Developer Storybird Studio and publishers PQube and PixelHeart have announced the finalized release date for Beyond the Ice Palace II. The sequel will be available for Switch both physically and digitally on March 13th, 2025, meaning there has been a slight delay from the initially scheduled 2024 launch. The original Beyond the Ice Palace was released all the way back in 1988, so a few month delay for the long-awaited sequel should go by pretty fast in comparison. Carrying forward the legacy of its predecessor, Beyond the Ice Palace 2 reimagines the retro gaming experience with modern enhancements. Players step into the shoes of the ‘Cursed King’, who must rise from the depths of darkness to reclaim his throne. Armed with a weapon forged from the chains that once bound him, the king will traverse treacherous landscapes, unearth hidden treasures, and face off against monstrous foes in a dark fantasy adventure.

Niantic and The Pokémon Company have announced that Pokémon GO gift cards will be available for the first time ever in the U.S. exclusively at Walmart locations (and via Walmart.com) starting Oct. 20th, 2024. What does the gift card give you? Pokécoins of course!

Following a digital-only Switch eShop release back in September, a physical release of Caravan SandWitch is now confirmed to be on the way. The narrative-driven exploration adventure game will be distributed by Silver Lining Interactive and released on March 8th, 2025, with copies set to be available from retailers across North America, Europe, and Asia. The price of the physical version is currently unknown, but pre-orders are expected to open up soon.

In Caravan SandWitch, embark on a journey across a Sci-Fi Provence-like world, driven by a mystery through your missing sister that unfolds with each step you take. Interact with the communities on Cigalo, help them with their tasks and meet new people along the way. Take your time to explore the world, whether in your van or on foot. Life is simple: no combat, no death, no timer, just you, your van, and the world.

Developer Pancake Games and publisher Whitethorn Games have announced that Slime Heroes is coming to Nintendo Switch. When the 3D action-adventure “Souls-lite” game was first announced, Switch was not on the list of platforms, but it is now confirmed to be launching alongside the other versions sometime in Q1 2025.

In Slime Heroes, journey through a whimsical world entrusted to an unlikely hero, a slime, tasked to save it from a mysterious corruption. Explore the expansive 3D world — alone or with a friend — and encounter ferocious enemies, challenging but approachable puzzles, and uncover forgotten treasures. Gain magical gems throughout the world and dynamically combine them to create unique and powerful magical skills that can take down even the most corrupt minions and bosses. Discover a touching story of overcoming expectations, friendship, and forgiveness as you progress because even slimes can be heroes!

Key Features of Slime Heroes include:

• Gain Abilities and Change Them Up On the Fly: Collect and consume an arsenal of gems obtained from defeating enemies, and dynamically combine skills to craft unique attacks that suit your playstyle at any time.
• Play Alone or With a Friend: Venture off solo or jump into a friend’s game at any time for a fun couch and online co-op adventure. With a shared loot system, you’ll both be able to create complimentary abilities to take on the fiercest corrupted enemies.

• Make Your Slime Your Own: Give your slime some personality as you customize their face and colours to your liking. Find hats throughout the map that not only give your slime that little extra pizazz but also provide helpful stat buffs, keeping you fashionable and ready for battle.

No Man’s Sky has been updated to Version 5.25 on Nintendo Switch. The update adds cross-save support between consoles, brings back the SSV Normandy SR1 from Mass Effect (only available for two weeks), bug fixes, and more. Check out the full patch notes below.

• Cross-Save is now enabled for No Man’s Sky, allowing players to transfer save games between all platforms. This feature is being released as a limited beta with a restricted number of places, which will be increased in the coming weeks. All players are invited to read about the feature, and connect their platform accounts via the “Getting Started” link here.
• The Beachhead expedition begins today, and will run for two weeks. Alongside Priest Entity Nada, investigate mysterious fluctuations in history already written – and recruit the legendary SSV Normandy SR1 into your fleet.
• Fixed a crash related to loading Multi-Tools.
• Fixed an incorrect icon for the Grub Cocoon at the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion.
• Fixed incorrect icon and text in the Catalogue archive for The Cursed.
• Repositioned the save indicator on the main menu.

Farmagia, the new action-RPG / farming simulation game from Marvelous, launched for Switch last week. Now, the developer has announced that a free “buddy skin” will be released as DLC every Thursday for the rest of November, with the first one, Afanc Skin: Baby Tomato, available today.
