Pokémon TCG Pocket going after users with "uncomfortable" names

Pokémon TCG Pocket has seen incredible success so far, wooing in millions upon millions of players since launch. That kind of attention has brought with it all kinds of people, including some who like to cause a bit of trouble.

It seems Pokémon TCG Pocket is dealing with an influx of users who have what Pokémon Co. has deemed names that are causing “discomfort.” While Pokémon Co. hasn’t shared the names specifically, they have made it clear they’re not going to sit by and let these users run wild.

Pokémon Co. has released a statement saying that they’ll be hopping into Pokémon TCG Pocket to purge these uncomfortable usernames. Pokémon Co. will take it upon themselves to change the names or suspend users, so they’re clearly very serious about this problem. You can see their full statement on the matter below.

In accordance with the Terms of Use, we will change player names of the accounts in question and will warn them, suspend their accounts, or take other action.
